Understanding the 4 areas of SEND

Overview

This course is Day 1 of a sequence of SENCO induction sessions being held throughout the year. It is designed to provide those new to the SENCO role with an understanding of the 4 broad areas of need from the Code of Practice.

Who is it for?

This 1 day course is specifically designed for newly appointed SENCOs in Birmingham who are learning the role.

Course Outcomes:

• To understand the 4 main areas of need within the SEND Code of Practice
• To have an awareness of each of the areas of need
• To know how to support staff in school
• To have knowledge of the key supporting strategies and who can provide support around each area
