Overview

This course is designed to provide an overview of the responsibilities of the SENDCo role as well as the opportunity to develop your own knowledge through school-based tasks and a short SEND focussed project to share with the group.

Who is it for?

This 4-session package is specifically designed for qualified teachers to give key insights into the SENDCo role for those who may be interested in exploring this role. Participants must be able to attend all 4 sessions.

Focus of sessions:

• Introduction to the SENDCo role
• Identification of SEND needs & Provision
• Monitoring & Impact Measures
• Conclusions & Final presentations of impact projects

Dates:

Session 1: 1.30 – 3.30 pm Monday 24/11/25

Session 2: 1.30 – 3.30 pm Monday 19/01/26

Session 3: 1.30 – 3.30 pm Monday 16/03/26

Session 4: 1.30 – 3.30 pm Monday 29/06/26

Venue: TBC (Either Thornbury Centre or The Council House)

Cost: Free
