NEED ADVICE?

If you’re not sure where to find SEND information, support or advice, SENDIASS (Birmingham’s SEND Information, Advice and Support Service) can help guide you to the right services and resources.

SENDIASS

SENDIASS are here to help you understand your child or young person’s special educational needs and rights. They offer free, confidential and impartial information, advice and support for children and young people aged 0 to 25, and their parents and carers.

They can support you in understanding complex legal documents, resolving concerns, and challenging local authority decisions. And if there is anything they can’t help with directly, they will point you in the right direction.

If you need additional resources, or help understanding a particular service, SENDIASS can help with that too. They can provide both verbal and written information specific to you or your child’s circumstances.

Most importantly, they do not tell families what to do. They listen, explain, and support them to make informed decisions.

There are different ways you can get in touch with the service (listed below), and you can use the following button to visit their website and learn more.

“Since Mark started in the post earlier this year we have been working closely with SENDIASS, attending the monthly Steering Group, reviewing performance and improvements. Mark has supported numerous PCF events offering advice and guidance on navigating the system. We look forward to further strengthening our relationship with SENDIASS to reach and support more parent carers together.”
